Aklan Catholic College (ACC) celebrates ACC Sr. Sto. Niño Sadsad Sa Kalye 2026 with a Eucharistic mass presided by Rev Fr. Paul Andrew Buenaventura S. Sayon V, Vice President for Finance and Ancillary Services concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Jose Gualberto I. Villasis, Rector-President, and Rev. Fr. Lawrence Andrew U. Olivia Ph.D., Asst Dean for Liberal Arts, on January 15, 2026 at the ACC gymnasium, main campus.
In his homily, Fr. Sayon reminded everyone of the true meaning of the festival—that we dance in the streets not simply to celebrate, but to give thanks for God’s blessings through the Sto. Niño.
“We do not simply dance to entertain or to show energy and creativity; we dance because we are grateful; we are thankful, we want to give thanks to God and we express it through our dancing. We are grateful to God for our gift of life, we are grateful for our families and friends, we are grateful for education and opportunities, we are grateful for protection in times of danger, we are grateful for answered prayers, we are grateful for strength during trials and difficulties that we thought we could never survive. In general, we are grateful.”
The Eucharistic celebration highlighted the spiritual center of the devotion to the Señor Santo Niño, uniting the Aklan Catholic College community in faith and core values, and preparing them for days of joyful sadsad, solidarity, and cultural festivity.
